World Conference of Asian Psychiatry

From 31 July – 4 August 2011, Melbourne hosted the World Congress of Asian Psychiatry which explored the interaction of Western and Eastern traditions.
Asia has many mental health challenges. Some countries face rapid economic growth, westernisation and the associated mental health issues. Some have ageing populations and growing rates of dementia. Some are working to bypass age-old stigmas.
We helped run the media program for the event. For media enquiries call AJ Epstein on 0433 339 141 or email aj@scienceinpublic.com.au.

Today at the 3rd World Congress of Asian Psychiatry in Melbourne this week, we explore treating mental illness with exercise, diet, mindfulness, meditation, complementary medicines and seafood. Is it time to go back to basics in treating mood disorders?
