Science Communications Officer

Kieren is a Science Communications Officer with a background in science and environment filmmaking. He started at Science in Public in 2021 as casual Science Communicator before coming on permanently in 2023 as a Science Communications Officer.

His projects include creating the Australian Institute of Physics’ social media and monthly bulletin for an audience of 5000 people. He works on the core team of National Science Week’s national PR campaign, contributing to their media releases and social media. He also coordinates media training workshops for researchers.

Kieren holds a Master of Environment (Education and Social Change) and a Bachelor of Science (Environment and Sustainability). He began his career producing dozens of science and environment films for research organisations, environmental groups, and local councils.
