BETTER FUTURES FORUM Wednesday 7 September

Minister Bowen will speak to the Better Futures Forum at breakfast, 7.30 to 8.30 am, at the Adams Auditorium, UNSW Canberra, Wednesday 7 September 2022.

Media invited onsite for breakfast. Minister Bowen’s speech will be streamed in the morning session starting 9AM.

And then all panels open to media online and in-person.

Australia can support our Pacific neighbours to address the impacts of climate change

Last year, close to 24 million internal displacements of people were linked to disasters – almost 14 million in East Asia and the Pacific.

Disasters now cause almost three times as much internal displacement as conflict, with climate change amplifying the frequency and severity of extreme weather events.

Pacific leaders continue to call on Australia to support their communities in their response to climate change.
